Lately, we have heard many kinds of diseases, and one of them is the cancer. Cancer is a group of diseases characterized by uncontrolled cell division and the ability of these cells to attack other biological tissues, either by direct growth in adjacent tissues (the invasion) or by cell migration to the distant place (metastasis). Uncontrolled growth is caused by the damage to DNA, causing mutations in vital genes that control cell division. Some mutations might be needed to transform normal cells into cancer cells.
These mutations are often caused by chemical or physical agents called carcinogens. Mutations can occur spontaneously (obtained) or inherited (germline mutations). Cancer can cause many different symptoms, depending on the location and character of the malignancy and whether there is a metastasis. A decisive diagnosis requires microscopic examination of tissue obtained by biopsy. Once diagnosed, cancer is usually treated with surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. In this article, I will share about a brain cancer treatment by using the herbal medicine indirubin.
As the herbal medicine, indirubin has been used in the traditional Chinese medicine for brain cancer treatment. According to the researchers, it can defeat the deadly brain cancer. It is come from indigo plant, which is the active ingredient in the formula Dang Gui Long Hui Wan and often used to treat chronic myeloid leukemia.
Researchers from Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center (OSUCCC) found evidence that indirubin compounds that inhibit migration of glioblastoma cells, and endothelial cells can stop the cancer of blood vessel formation. Endothelium is a thin layer of cells lining the inner surface of blood vessels. That?s why it?s become the perfect brain cancer treatment that will give no effect to the body.
Glioblastomas affect approximately 1000 citizens of the USA each year and killing nearly 13,000 of them every year. ?The disease is the most common and deadly form of brain cancer, with the ferocity of the viability of an average for about 15 months after being diagnosed.?
