NEW YORK (AP) ? Stocks are opening close to break-even ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Just after the opening bell on Wall Street, the Dow Jones industrial average is up two points at 12,791. The Standard & Poor's 500 index is up a fraction at 1,387. And the Nasdaq composite index is up one point at 2,918.
The Deere farm equipment company is opening almost 3 percent lower. It reported a quarterly profit of $1.75 per share, missing Wall Street expectations of $1.88.
The market is closed Thursday for the holiday.
